Directions to George Wythe High School

From I-81 Heading North:

Bands coming from the Bristol area. Take exit 67 Take a left at the end of the exit.. Head south on Rt. 11. When you pass the Dodge Dealership, take a right on Spiller Street, There will be a George Wythe High School Sign (it isn’t very big, we’ll have balloons on the sign). You will go down a big hill, and then back up the hill. GWHS is at the end of the road.

 

From I-81 Heading South:

From the Roanoke/Montgomery County area. Take exit 73. Go all the way through town (point out the world’s biggest pencil in downtown Wytheville to your kids). As you leave the downtown area a bit you will come to a red light. Take a right on Rt 11 North, also named Lee highway. (There is a Dollar Store on the left and a Grocery Store on the right.) You will pass the Pizza Hut. In a few blocks you will see Spiller Street, at the Dodge/Jeep Dealership. Take a Left on Spiller St. There will be a George Wythe High School Sign (it isn’t very big, we’ll have balloons on the sign). You will go down a big hill, and then back up the hill. GWHS is at the end of the road.

IF you are arriving late South after they get on Monroe Street. later than 4:00 PM to Wytheville from I 81 heading south Roanoke/Montgomery County: Do Not TAKE EXIT 73 (There is a fire parade in town). Take the next exit that says I-77 North Bluefield, WV. Then take the first exit Wytheville-Max Meadows. This exit is just about 750 feet after you take I-77 North.  Take a right off the exit onto Monroe Street through Wytheville until you come to an end (stop sign), Italian Garden on the right, Pizza Hut across the road. Take a right in Lee Highway (Rt.11) in a few blocks you will see Spiller Street, at the Dodge/Jeep Dealership. Take a Left on Spiller St. There will be a George Wythe High School Sign (it isn’t very big, we’ll have balloons on the sign). You will go down a big hill, and then back up the hill. GWHS is at the end of the road.

From I-77 Heading North:

Bands coming from the Hillsville/NC area, same as I-81 South, as they are the same Road in Wythe County. A congruent highway, you know! Follow the I-81 heading south directions.

From I-77 Heading South:

Take the Wytheville – Max Meadows Exit, bear right off the exit onto Monroe St. Follow Monroe St through Wytheville until you come to an end (stop sign), Duke’s Bar-B-Que on the right, Pizza Hut across the road. Take a right in Lee Highway (Rt.11) in a few blocks you will see Spiller Street, at the Dodge/Jeep Dealership. Take a Left on Spiller St. (Continued…)
